Lake Mead

Every other year or so my parents take us to Mesquite Nevada for vacation. We stay at the Virgin River Hotel and my parents bring their boat down and we drive out to the lake each morning. We always have a great time! Sure I look all tough before we start going. I use to love to ride the water wennie and the tube when I was a teenager. I am such a baby now, I will only ride it with the kids and I still get scared. That is real terror on my face in the picture below. What a wimp!

Wow, that was a lot of work getting this posted. I'm glad I got it done. We had a great time and love going on vacations with the family!

Naughty but Funny Kids

The first day of Summer Vaction, I was in the computer room paying some bills online and I heard the kids screaming and laughing, so I went to see what they were doing and they had gotten their swimsuits on and they had completely covered the kitchen floor with water and they were slippin' slidin' across the floor. It was so funny but so naughty! It was one of those moments where you go What The Heck? Why would you guys think this is OK? So the first day home from school was spent cleaning the floor and sitting in their room.

This is what they were doing today while Miley and I mowed the lawn. Its a good thing we live at a dead end!!!

Memorial Day Weekend

We went camping with some of our neighbors to my Great Grandma's property over Memorial Day weekend. We couldn't believe it when we got there, the whole entrance was completely flooded. It took us about an hour to decide if we could make it through with our trailers without getting stuck. The water was knee deep in some spots, but the mud looked like it had enough rocks in it to keep us from getting stuck. We all made it through without any problems. After being there for a couple of days and after a rainy Sunday we had a few problems with the mud around our camp site. A couple of people got stuck and had to get pulled out. We worried that we were going to have to leave the trailers behind and go get them later in the week, but after a nice sunny Memorial Day, we were all able to safely leave with our trailers. We had a great time. The kids went through all the clothes they had, the mud was just too tempting!!!

Here is a video of our neighbors going home on Sunday without their trailer. They came back up on Monday and were able to bring it home.
